What excites you about your subject?

I love the accessibility of herbal medicine – if you have access to plants, you have access to medicine! We have co-evolved with plants and are part of nature, working with nature is one of the most beautiful, powerful and life-affirming acts of living as an interconnected being.

Favourite thing about teaching a master class?

Empowering others with the knowledge and skills to take better care of themselves and their loved ones, in a way that works with their innate wellbeing and shifts them back to a better state of balance.  The best thing of all is getting feedback weeks / months after a master class to hear how the learning has been taken forward and had a positive impact on health and wellbeing!

What will participants learn on your class?

We will meet about 15 key herbs, that can be grown at home and made into effective medicines to help ease symptoms of stress and anxiety.  Each herb has a character, and by getting to know the personality of the plant, participants will be better able to pick and choose what is right for them or a loved one in that moment. Harvesting, drying and tincturing will be covered as part of the day, so that participants can set up their own mini apothecaries at home for easy access and safe, effective self-treatment.

What is your favourite herb?

It is impossible to have one favourite herb – that is like choosing a favourite child!! There is a list of herbs I wouldn’t want to be without, and different herbs I would choose for different scenarios – just like we call on different friends or colleagues to help us with different life challenges, or to share special moments!

A Fun fact,  (about your subject linked to herbs)

When I started my degree in herbal medicine, I thought I may go the ethnobotanical and research route and wasn’t sure if I would end up consulting as a herbalist.  However, by the time I hit my 3rd year and I really started to feel and witness how impactful plant medicine was, and how it changed lives for the better, I was hooked!  Being part of a living, breathing system of medicine that genders wellbeing and treats root cause is the best thing ever 😊
