Bees, Bees, Bees at Jekka's
At Jekka's, we can spend hours watching bees buzz around the Thyme beds in Jekka's Herbetum. We've written numerous blogs and guides on bees, pollinators, and growing herbs that support them, such as Jekka's guide to pollinating herbs.
Some of the bees’ favourite herbs are included in Jekka's seed collections, in particular: Birds & Bees, Biodiversity and Wild Herbs. Furthermore, in our "For the Garden" range we sell a number of bee homes, including, the Bee Barn, the Bee Nester and Eco Nesting Tubes that can also be found in Jekka’s Pollinating Gardeners Gift Box.
For visitors to the farm, we are delighted to be able to sell our honey in our shop, which is thanks to our bee keeper Alan, who is part of the South Gloucestershire Beekeepers Association.
Growing herbs for bees supports pollination, enhances biodiversity, provides natural habitats, and contributes to a healthier ecosystem. Plus you get tasty, beautiful herbs to enjoy!

Jekka's Open Days are a fabulous herb filled experience where you can explore Jekka's Herb Garden, have a slice or two of cake and buy some organically grown herbs for your garden.
We are delighted to continue the bee theme and following on from the informative tours of Jean Vernon at our June Open Days, which focused on wild bees, we will be joined by Richard Rickett who is an expert bee keeper.
Richard has been keeping bees for more than twenty years and teaches beekeeping courses around the UK. He will be celebrating his new book, titled "Beekeeping for Gardeners" (Bloomsbury) and will be happy to answer all your questions about honey bees and how to garden for bees. So whether you are a new bee keeper or a seasoned apiarist; Richard will have some tips for you!
As well as bee tours with Richard, Jekka will be giving her popular herb talks that are full of seasonal tips for growing herbs and how to grow in this cold and wet summer!
If that wasn't enough, we will also have a stand from the Woodland Trust.
Friday 5th July & Saturday 6th July open day tickets are on sale now!
