100 Herbs to Grow is a celebration of Jekka's 40 years of herb growing, knowledge and experience. Learn how to grow RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold medal winning herbs from Jekka McVicar who has been awarded the Victoria Medal of Honour for her services to horticulture.
Jekka’s 100 Herbs to Grow details how to grow herbs in the garden, in containers and from seed. This comprehensive book guides you through propagation, division, cuttings, harvesting and yearly maintenance. Jekka grows herbs using sustainable methods with the environment in mind. This not only results in fantastically healthy herbs but great biodiversity at her herb farm in South Gloucestershire.
In the forty years Jekka has been growing herbs, she has witnessed the change in climate, pests and disease and how they affect herbs. In her latest book she shares her knowledge of how to grow herbs in a changing climate resulting in this up-to-date and invaluable handbook.
Jekka also offers historical knowledge and anecdotes as well as culinary and medicinal uses so you can make the most of your successfully grown herbs. This includes how to use your herbs at home both in the kitchen and how to make your own herb first aid kit.
“If you want to grow the very best herbs, you need this book in your life. In fact, this book is way more than that, it’s packed full of Jekka’s knowledge, advice, and observations from a lifetime of dedication to the wonderful world of growing. Herbs are life!” Nathan Outlaw
