A major part of our natural ecosystem on Jekka’s herb farm is the biodiversity of pollinators. Pollinators visit flowers to harvest their nectar and pollen. In turn, many plants rely on insects to pollinate their flowers and to complete their reproductive cycle. We promote pollinators as they help make healthy, tasty and strong herbs. Therefore, pollinators benefit everyone in the garden! This kit not only promotes eco-conscious gardening but also helps individuals contribute to a healthy ecosystem.

We wish everyone to enjoy herbs and support biodiversity in their garden. We have developed this kit as a good starting point. It contains Jekka's special hand-mixed seedling compost as well as 5 packets of our seeds especially for pollinators.

Jekka's grow at home herb kit contains the following 5 individual packets of culinary herb seeds:

• Oregano (Origanum) which has small pink tubular flowers combined with oval, slightly hairy and aromatic leaves that attract both bees and butterflies in the summer months.
• Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus): Lovely bright blue flowers that are a haven for bees. It also has culinary uses, and the flower petals are edible and can be used to great effect scattered over salads, rice or in summer drinks.
• Anise Hyssop (Agastache foeniculum (Pursh) Kuntze): its long purple flower spikes with aniseed-scented, oval, toothed mid green leaves supports diverse biodiversity in your garden. You can also use the flowers in sweet and savoury salads and the leaves in salads and for making herbal infusions, teas or tisanes.
• Oxeye Daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare): has large daisy flowers that are produced singly on long stalks in summer making it a wonderful nectar plant for pollinators.
• Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare): A hardy herbaceous perennial, which works equally as well in ornamental borders as it does as a culinary herb. From the Apiaceae, carrot family, it has yellow flowers and green feathery leaves. Wonderful source of nectar for hoverflies.
