Allium cepa 'Rossa da Inverno Sel Rubino', Red Salad Onion

Hardy perennial, Ht. 60cm, spread 50cm. An attractive red onion for salads with a pleasant mild flavour. Great for planting in the spring and harvesting in late summer. The onions will store for 5-6 months.

Red Salad Onion herb seeds are available: A packet of seeds costs £2.50. There are approximately 90 herb seeds per packet (all of our herb seeds are untreated and can be used to grow organic herb plants).

One of our three core roots is that we are Environmentally Conscious and for the past 30 years all the herbs grown at Jekka’s have been raised following sustainable, environmentally friendly and organic approaches resulting in a remarkable biodiversity at the herb farm.

Our herb seeds are also untreated and can be used to grow organic herb plants. Our seeds are hand packed into gassine bags, which are fully recyclable, compostable and biodegradable. These bags are then put into beautifully illustrated paper seed packets. Therefore, our environmental footprint is small.

Following our root of being ‘green, environmentally friendly and sustainable', we use eco-kraft boxes that are FSC approved and do not use any plastic in the posting of our products.

All our orders are dispatched with a standard delivery note, which includes addresses and items ordered but no prices. We will also include any gift note you have written at check-out.

For orders to be delivered outside the UK, we strongly advise checking with your local customs office prior to placing the order online.  Please note, for seed orders, our seeds have UK Plant Passports and carry the information required by the UK’s seed marketing regulations. However, we do not issue phytosanitary (health) certificates (PC). International orders are placed at your (the customers) risk.
